DHARMA FRIENDS is a rich and varied community that meets once a month at Tibet House NYC (In-Person and Streaming).

By weaving together meditation, art, Dharma, music, and embodiment practices, we’re co-creating uniquely Western expressions of traditional Dharma.

Founded by Megan Mook and hosted by resident teachers Megan Mook and Kevin Townley, each DHARMA FRIENDS gathering features a specific Dharma theme and meditation practice, plus something special like visiting artists, teachers and scholars.

Join Megan Mook and Kevin Townley in our only event of the summer as we celebrate and pay tribute to The 14th Dalai Lama, who turns 90 on July 6th. In this extra special June Dharma Friends, we'll explore the Dalai Lama's extraordinary life story, tracing his birth in Tibet and his exile to India to his role as global activist, spiritual leader, and Nobel Peace Prize Winner.

We'll also learn about the fascinating history of the institution of the Dalai Lama (including its Mongolian origins in 1578). Expect an evening of delightful stories, history, and celebration. We'll conclude the evening with a meditation on compassion and an integrative sound meditation with the beloved George MacPherson.
