AUTUMN RESET:
Quiet Mind | Open Heart
Autumn in the Northeast is exciting and hectic. With lazy summer days gone and the holidays just around the corner, it’s easy to get swept up in the urgency and stress of everyday life. In preparation for darker days and the inevitable holiday madness, this year’s fall retreat is about consciously reigning in our mind and shoring up our foundation for the winter.
In addition to thoughtful Dharma talks with practical take-aways, this year’s retreat places a strong emphasis on simple, straight-forward sitting practice — all within the context of compassion for self and others.
The early morning and evening sessions will be quiet, focused-based meditation while the afternoon sessions will be open awareness and compassion practices.
Expect a carefully curated schedule that skillfully balances group instruction and practice with ample personal time for hiking, resting, and connecting with others. This retreats include a lot of practice time but still feels extremely spacious and relaxed. The Dharma teachings, meditation, and yoga are suitable for all levels.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Silent Sunrise and Sunset Meditation Overlooking the Catskills. Thoughtful Dharma Talks. Evening Sound Baths. Crisp Mountain Air. Meandering Hikes. Gentle Yoga. Fall Foliage. Garden Fresh Food. Time to Connect with Yourself and Others.

ACCOMMODATIONS AND RATES
WON raised their rates in 2026. We have absorbed as much of the cost ourselves as possible, but some rooms have increased slightly. Please fill out a scholarship form if you need extra assistance.
Commuters — All meals + use of the grounds. $550
Camping — Lovely wooden platforms under the trees and close to the residence halls with bathrooms, showers, and a common area. You provide your own tent, etc. $550
Quad — A fan favorite. Gender separate, spacious rooms with four beds. $710 per person. (Quad rooms generally fill with women, making us unable to accommodate men. Please reach out for men’s quad availability. Hello@meganmook.com).
Double — Two twin beds. Perfect for friends or couples. We can also pair you with a same gender roommate. $800 per person.
Single — Spacious rooms with a single twin bed. $1,200
AWARD WINING ARCHITECTURE: The main Practice Hall has soaring ceilings and large windows over looking the Catskill Mountains. There are two modern and airy Residence Halls. Each Residence Hall has a large wrap around deck, an interior court yard, a common area with a tea station, and multiple modern bathrooms scattered throughout (there are almost as many bathrooms as there are bedrooms). Private bathrooms are occasionally available by special request. There are no en-suite bathrooms.
THE LAND AND FOOD: Won Dharma Center has over 400 acres of trails that meander through meadows and forests with stunning views of the Catskills, thoughtfully placed benches, and a secret river. The nights are quiet and star filled. The vegetarian food is lovingly prepared by the resident Buddhist ministers from the on-site garden. Expect delicious and varied cuisine with a Korean touch. Vegan and gluten free options are readily available.
